Crab curry is country style crab curry of Kerala. Crab meat is cooked in coconut with a blend of spices and topped off with a tadka in fresh coconut oil.


1) Crab - .5 kg( cut and washed), Marinade: 2) Chili Powder - 1 Tsp, 3) Turmeric Powder - A Pinch, 4) Salt - As needed, 5 ) Garam Masala Powder - 1 Tsp, 6) Onion - 1 Medium, 7) Ginger - A Small piece, 8) Curry Leaves - 10-12, 9) Green Chili - 6-8, 10) Jeera Powder - 1 Tsp, 11) Grated Coconut - 3-5 Tsp, 12) Coconut oil(More tastier) /Oil - As required.

Preparation Method

1) Marinate the cleaned crab with the above marinade and keep aside for at least 15 minutes. 2) In a pan add Oil and fry the cut onions till transulant.When done add ginger,curry leaves and green chili, fry for 2-3 minutes. 3) Now add the crab pieces with little water.Cover the lid and let it boil for some time.When the crab is cooked well and the water is absorbed,add the jeera powder,grated coconut and 1 tsp of coconut oil and fry for 2 minutes.The Crab Fry is ready.
